Here are five guys who are flying up my fantasy rankings for next week:
Kyle Lowry, Point Guard
Coming into the 2015 season, Lowry was a highly underrated fantasy player, but so far this year he has put up great stats for his owners. This season, he has averaged 22.0 points, 6.3 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 35.8 minutes per game. Lowry has also been deadly from three-point range, averaging 3.0 three-point shots made per contest this year. He has quickly become a top-tier point guard for fantasy purposes and should be a guy everyone wants to own. …show more content…
Kristaps Porzingis, Power Forward
Coming into this season, I was high on rookie players such as D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns, but Porzingis has easily been the most impressive of the 2015 class.
During his rookie campaign, he has averaged 14.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 27.4 minutes per game. If you own Porzingis, you most likely either picked him up super late in your draft or scooped him up off of waivers. Either way, he is one of the most talented fantasy gems of this young season!
Brandon Knight, Point
Guard
I bet the Milwaukee Bucks fan are wishing that they still had Knight on their team because he has been nothing short of amazing this season. In 2015, he has averaged 21.4 points, 5.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 36.2 minutes per contest. Like Lowry, Knight is deadly from three-point land, making 2.5 shots per contest this season. The thing I like most about Knight is his average minutes total. The guy has plenty of time each night to pack in an optimum amount of fantasy points for your squad!
Robert Covington, Power Forward
Covington was a sleeper candidate coming into the season and he’s quickly become a must-own player for fantasy basketball owners. So far this season, he has averaged 14.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.1 assists per game. He was taken out of the starting five a few weeks ago, but has made is return and been even better. Over the last six games since his return, Covington has averaged 17.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.0 steals per contest. The 4.0 steals per game is absolutely amazing, making him a must-own guy for category-based leagues.
Elfrid Payton, Point Guard
During the preseason, I was very high on this young Orlando Magic team from a fantasy standpoint. So far this year, Payton has averaged 11.7 points, 6.5 steals, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 32.9 minutes per game. He got off to a slow start early on this season but has seemed to have gained the confidence of head coach Scott Skiles lately. Over the last few weeks, Payton has vastly improved his game and is rewarding owners who held onto him. See’s still a lesser known player, so right now is the time to still buy low on him before it’s too late.
