    Essay On V-E Day

America faced serious troubles as so many families were affected by the great loss of life during the war effort. In his V-E Day proclamation, President Truman called for every American to join together, regardless of their personal God, in a day of prayer for all those affected. And thanking God for delivering victory over tyranny, in Europe, to the Allied Forces. He also asked that they pray for safety as the war in the pacific still raged on (Obama; “V-E Day”). After Truman’s call to action, we see a resounding answer as Americans rise to give thanks to a God for helping them overcome great adversity. Through the adversities of the Fascist movement and a war fighting said movement, Europe had not seen peace in years. V-E Day, however, would…

I never used to write. In fact, I didn’t much like it. Little did I know that writing would become obsolete and a physiological requirement for the well being of my life. From an early age on all I did was read. I grew up in an isolated environment where books were my escape, and escape was necessary from the hardships of home. I remember being a young seven-year-old boy wearing a pillowcase around my neck fastened with a pen. I was eating animal crackers at the time, and my step dad was calling out for me. I didn’t understand at the time what was really going on. My mother came out of the room and my dad acted as if nothing happened and told me to…

    Democracy of Kyrgyzstan

    • 10 Pages

Political changes that took place since the independence of Kyrgyzstan in 1991 played an important role in Kyrgyzstan’s transition from an authoritarian regime to a country of democracy. In 1991 Kyrgyzstan gained its independence after being a part of Soviet Union for about 70 years. In 1991 Askar Akayev became the President of Kyrgyzstan and his government soon introduced new economic and political systems to Kyrgyzstan. Akayev’s government believed that their new approaches would lead Kyrgyzstan to democratization in the few coming years. This was the initial step of the transition towards democratization. However, during the period of 1991-1994 these changes did not have much impact on their goal to become a democratic country. That was mainly because Kyrgyzstan was not ready for democracy…
