Abstract
This experiment is composed of three parts. The purpose of the first experiment is to find the density of dry ice by using the method of displacement volume. Before the experiment, it was thought that the density would decrease over time due to the ice's sublimation. The trials proved the hypothesis to be correct. This was done by placing dry ice in a balloon and measuring the displacement of water from a beaker. Three trials were done and measurements were recorded. The purpose of the second experiment is to find the density of different water samples each containing different amounts of salt. There is distilled water, "ocean" water, and "dead sea" water. To do this, the waters were each weighed and measured, and then by using a formula, the densities were found. The hypothesis for this is that the
"dead sea" water is the heaviest, and it was proven to be correct. The final experiment tests for the density of a golfball by using a caliper ruler and by the method of volume displacement. The hypothesis for this is that the density was greater than 1.00, and it was proven to be correct.
