In the past two decade over 1.0 billion people around the world had no access to clean water and basic sanitation due to the lack of water. Water has becoming one of the most important potable water in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to Fischer (2011), said that even oil is not as valuable than water in the middle east, due to the saline water and climate change it has hyper-arid and endless desert. The aim of this report is to compare and recommend water provision method in arid region basis on cost and environmental impact for desalination water and water transport.
2. Background
Saudi Arabia is located in the middle east and it is known of one of the hottest countries in the world, the temperatures increase rapidly about 57 to 63 degrees throughout the summer and approximately 30 to 34 degrees during the winter therefore it has no rainfall, although Saudi Arabia is one of many developed countries, however most of the potable water comes from desalination water about 50% comes from desalination water and 40% from transporting water and 10% from groundwater, not much benefit from groundwater because it has limited water, so most of the water comes from desalination father than transporting water.
3. Presentation of options
Desalination water
The meaning of desalination water is removing all the contamination of seawater so that the people can drink pure water. Transporting water Water transportation, stand for the movement of supply of water by ship or truck or pipe from countries to countries.
4. Requirements Cost
In 2009 Saudi Arabia has ranked the 13th in world bank report in the world the cost in Saudi Arabia is important because it is part of the project that can easily identify a direct achievement.
Environmental impact
Marine and greenhouse gases can affect the environment and health such as marine habitat and carbon dioxide, Saudi Arabia needs to take this as a consideration to that they can
