Macbeth tragic Hero The character of Macbeth is a example of a tragic hero. There are several things that contribute to Macbeth's downfall into madness, but only three of them really stand out. The first point to his downfall is all the Visions that were told to him by the witches. The next is how Lady Macbeth manipulates and has strong influence over Macbeth's moral code. finally, Macbeth falls because of his ambition and desire to become king. Macbeth’s character starts from being a noble thane to become a murdering king. These visions which were told by the witches were one of the factors which contributed to the downfall of macbeth. If the witches had would have never told macbeth that he was to be the thane of Cawdor, thane of Glamis, and later become the king of Scotland Macbeth probably would still be himself. As the visions were actually coming true macbeth started to become more and more interested in how he would become king of Scotland. Macbeth became overwhelmed he had thought about killing King Duncan but his moral code wouldn't let him. Though he is definitely guilty of pride and greed, there is also bad things that come with these prophecies that the witched are saying. When Macbeth goes to the witch sisters demanding a prophesy, they tell him the about the prophecies that are about to come true but in a weird way. The first ghost is an armed head, which tells him to “beware Macduff”, then comes the second ghost who looks like a bloody child which tell macbeth that "none of woman born shall harm Macbeth"; the third ghost is a crowned child who tells Macbeth that he will be safe until “ The Birnam Wood moves against him."In Act V, Macbeth is told by his men that the woods are moving against him and that his wife is
