Lady Macbeth Responsible For The Murder

Shakespeare was an english poet, playwright, and actor. One of shakespeare's most famous plays is a tragedy called Macbeth. The play follows the life of an ambitious couple in Scotland. The main characters Macbeth and Lady Macbeth use their ambition and determination to take power in Scotland, by killing King Duncan. Lady Macbeth is the main influencer when Macbeth commits the murder of King Duncan. Macbeth, a weak character, is able to be convinced by Lady Macbeth to kill Duncan. Her encouragement was the most influential factor contributing to the murder. Lady Macbeth is manipulative and partly responsible for the murder, making her as guilty as Macbeth.
Out of the couple Lady Macbeth is the more dominant and controlling of the two. She is the brains behind the murder. In Act I scene 3 Macbeth is aware to become king, King Duncan will have to be taken down, “ The prince of Cumberland! Lady Macbeth was relentless when she tried to manipulate Macbeth. Macbeth is a weak minded character and with Lady Macbeth’s constant commentary she was able assure the murder went as planned. After the crime is committed Lady Macbeth feels no remorse,”Who was it that thus cried? Why, worthy thane, You do unbend your noble strength to think So brainsickly of things” (___). Lady Macbeth manipulates Macbeth into thinking the murder was a good thing by constantly making him feel like a coward for feeling regret. “Infirm of purpose! Give me the daggers. The sleeping and the dead Are but as pictures” (___). Lady Macbeth admits to being as guilty as Macbeth in Act 2 scene 3 “My hands are of your color, but I shame To wear a heart so white” (____).
