Lamb To The Slaughter Lies
It is crucial to always be honest with each other when in a marriage. Depending on how serious the lie is, it can result in harm. How does the short story, Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl, point out the change of Mary’s attitude and action towards her husband after he admits to cheating on her? At first, the story shows Mary helping Patrick, “She took his coat and hung it up”. This quote implies to the reader that she is desperate to please Patrick by doing everything she can so that Patrick does not have to do anything. When Patrick reveals that he has been cheating on her, she snaps and takes vengeance on him. The author uses the sentence, “So I’ve killed him.” and “It was extraordinary...how clear her mind became all of a sudden” to
