Lamb To The Tell Tale Heart Analysis

Have you ever done something you regretted later? For some people it's hard to control their feelings and emotions. In both the stories I read there are great examples. The common theme in both text is, don't do something if your going to regret it. In Tell Tale Heart the housekeeper was trying to get rid of the old man's Evil Eye. The housekeeper will not stop until the Evil Eye is gone. This lead to the unfair and cruelty treatment of the old man. In Lamb to the slaughter Patrick was talking to his wife about a divorce and Mary~ the wife~ didn't take it so well. She was after all pregnant and her emotions were high, but that doesn't cut it for what she did. The divorce thought lead to a deadly ending for someone. The motivation in both story's
In "Lamb to the Slaughter" Roald Dahl shows us that desperate desires and wants can bring out the worst in people~ people get hurt and people can be in danger for their life. In contrast to Lamb to the Slaughter, in "Tell tale Heart" Edgar Allan Poe shows us if you turn yourself in there's not going to be as much pain of if you live with yourself knowing that you killed someone. For example in Lamb to the Slaughter " And in the other room Mary Maloney began to laugh" she wasn't feeling any pain or guilt of killing her husband. In Tell Tale Heart after the housekeeper cut off the old man's arms and legs, he hid him under the floor boards at the house. Cops showed up and searched the house and came up with nothing. The housekeeper was happy with himself and invited the cops for some drinks. "Villains!" I shrieked, " dissemble no more! I admit the deed!-- tear up the planks!here, here!-- It is the beating of his hideous heart!" The housekeeper admitted to the killing the old man instead of living with the guilt for the rest of your life. Another contrast is Mary wasn't caught and the house
