I believe I am a great leader because I am the second oldest of seven siblings, of whom I have to take charge of frequently, and because I was a DECA officer in the 2016-2017 year, helping whenever I could at events such as the role play nights or running the store during a game. What do you feel is the greatest need of the Lancer student population? What ideas or suggestions do you think might help solve this need? I think the greatest need of the Lancer student population is involvement. Many of the students will only go to events if their friends are going or there is some sort of incentive such as a prize. Obviously that is an issue, because that means all of the hard work that was put into an event would have been counterproductive. To ensure that events that are put on appeal to the majority of the student body, I’d suggest that two annual surveys, one at the beginning and end of the year, would be handed to each student during their grade specific class, such as Freshmen Literature or U.S. History, giving a list of events that the school could put on, and if the student wants that event, he or she should circle the option. By giving two surveys, one at the beginning of the school year and one near the end, the leaders in charge of the events will know which events are the most popular and which are less popular, so that they can decide which events to put on and which ones to wait on. The reason I suggest this implementation is because some events are not interesting to people, and some events are incredible but aren’t run enough. The surveys will figure out what events are popular and which ones should be run before they’re actually
