Identity and Belonging Quotes
An un-named song is like an un-named child; it has no identity.
From the beginning, each human embryo has its own unique genetic identity.
The firmest friendship is based on an identity of likes and dislikes.
We all need a past - that's where our sense of identity comes from.
Follow your cultural and religious customs in your own home, but do not attempt to impose them on society. Rather than this, love each person as your own brother or sister, not seeing him or her as belonging to another creed, religion, or country.

Many of us are also nourished by friends, whom we love as family. We belong not only to them, but also to other loved ones, to our neighbourhood, our town, our state, our country, and our world.
By building relations, we create a source of love and personal pride and belonging that makes living in a chaotic world easier.
People enjoy the interaction on the Internet, and the feeling of belonging to a group that does something interesting: that's how some software projects are born.
You have to be unique, and different, and shine in your own way.
Don't you ever let a soul in the world tell you that you can't be exactly who you are.
Do not allow people to dim your shine because they are blinded. Tell them to put on some sunglasses, coz we were born this way!
Never be afraid to be kicked in the teeth. Let the blood and the bruises define your legacy.
Bare your struggles very close to your heart and have them be a part of you that you’re proud of, instead of something that you’re ashamed of.
I'd wear any of my private attire for the world to see. But I would rather have an open flesh wound than ever wear a band aid in public.
When you are truly comfortable in your own skin, not everyone will like you, but you won't care one bit!
“It doesn’t matter whom you love or where you move from or to - you always take yourself with you. If you don’t know who you are, or if you’ve forgotten or misplaced

I think the best way is to be a tolerant, open minded person and to remember that everyone has different ways of doing things and that most of the time there is not just one right way of doing something. Everyone should be treated fairly regardless of their abilities, background, values, customs and beliefs. We should all be understanding and sympathetic towards all types of people. It is good to show interest in other peoples cultures and beliefs.…

Only you choose your identity, not your friends, role models or any other person who may influence your life. All the things that build your identity like you’re actions, appearance and you’re posture are ways people will interpret who they think you are, when they have never met you. Also, the way you look, you’re heritage and bloodline gives you identity. Although Raya seems to suggest that others define us, I believe that who we are is a matter of the way you present yourself or the persona they portray for themselves and also the body they were born into.…

As much as humans like to control their own lives, there are many aspects that are outside of our control. For example, we do not choose the families into which we are born or the places where we grow up. The same is sometimes true of friendships. Some friends we choose because we identify them as people who are similar to us and because they offer us something we want. Occasionally, however, we make unexpected friends. For example, a young person bumps into someone at the library who is crying because she has lost an important paper she was writing for school. As a result, the two become friends and learn that helping people through tough times is at the core of strong relationships.…

We are who we are. We define ourselves. We make our own decisions. Our influences have great impacts on our lives. For example, vertical influences, as in families, want their offspring to be more like them. Our horizontal influences, as in society and foreign traits not given by a parent, drift one’s offspring away from the world they know. Is it possible to become exactly as we are expected to be by our parents and society? No. It is impossible to know the outcome of our identities no matter how we are raised. There are both positive and negative influences of the vertical and horizontal identity that a human being acquires to make them who they are. No one knows who we really are, or who we can be, we just must trust that the way we are brought up and what we are exposed to outside our family life is the correct way to a good life.…

Everyone should be themselves all the time because it makes them unique. Many ask, what’s so great about being different? Others would say individuality is an important characteristic. As an illustration, I met a girl who wanted to change who she was so others would like her. She tried very hard to make friends, but it didn’t work. Alas, she grew tired of being something that she’s not and went back to her old self. When she accepted the fact the she was not like her classmates, other things began to come to mind. She didn’t care what others thought of her, and actually started to make some friends. Today, that girl is still happy; while, she is still being herself. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to change yourself to impress…

Its easier said than done, being completely myself I mean. The world expects me to be myself and to not bother worrying about what others think, but at the same time they want to judge me for every single thing I do. I will never feel like I can dress exactly the way I want, act the way I want, or be the way I want without someone having something negative to say about it. That’s the way society is and I have to either be myself or drive myself crazy trying to be perfect. I envy the girls that can be themselves without being concerned with what someone else is going to think, because I can’t put on an outfit in the morning without that crossing my mind.…
