Doby became famous he was a good baseball player in high school. When he was playing for the Cleveland Indians he played center field. He also had to face racial prejudice because he was black and he was playing baseball. He was also the 2nd modern history of a major league baseball. When was playing with the Cleveland Indians he traded to play with the Chicago Sox then the Baltimore orioles then he went back to the Cleveland Indians. In 1959 he exchange to Detroit Tigers again, then he went back to Chicago Sox. About that same time he had to depart from baseball and with a following injury when he played with San diego of pacific coast leagues. When he retired he started to coach with Montreal Expos, Cleveland Indians, and Chicago Sox.
Larry is a good person to me because he was the first black person that stayed to baseball.
Even though there was races activity going on still Doby and Robinson was still playing. They didn't like that they had to sleep and different hotels and eat a different restaurant . They was upset about how the was getting treated by the other teammates because of they skin color. Soon in the years the teammates finally accept them. I have a lot of admire for Larry Doby for breaking the baseball color line. If it wasn't for him it's possible that african american couldn't play baseball. After he had family problems from left to right he still played and because famous. In 1946 he got married and had a wife name Helyn Curly and 5 kids name Larry Doby Jr., Kim Doby, Chris Doby, Leslie Doby, and Susan Doby.
When he was coaches he went to the doctor and found out he had cancer in his kidney. In 1997 he got the cancerous kidney removed. The next year he got inducted in the hall of fame for baseball. When 2001 came larry doby came for treatment for cancer. He had treatment from 2001-2003. When june 18, 2003 came larry doby
passed.
In conclusion larry doby was a good man. When he was playing baseball he was facing a lot of ways racial insults by people but he was getting affluent of money when different schools was calling him. Even though he had cancer he was still coaching baseball for his favorite team.
