Depending upon which area of the country you're from, you may have a water park near your home. As I've mentioned previously, there is not a lot of things for children to do in Las Vegas, so I wanted to list our water parks. In the summer time, it can be very hot, much hotter than many are used to, and a water park can be just the thing a kid will love doing.
We have two water parks here in the valley, Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas and Cowabunga Bay. Both of them are located in the southern portions of the valley. Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas is on the west side and Cowabunga Bay is on the east side. The latter water park is technically in the city of Henderson. These parks are only open during the warmer times of the year. Don't be confused
by the fact that Las Vegas is locate in the Mojave desert. The fact is that our city if located more that 2,000 feet above sea level, so it is a high desert and gets cold in the winter time. Usually these parks open in late March when the temperatures rise to the 70s. For many people who live in Las Vegas such as myself, this isn't very hot, but it may be plenty for those from other parts of the county. By the middle of June the temperatures begin to break 100 degrees.
For current information on the opening and closing of each water park for the current year, please consult their websites. In addition, you can get current ticket price information as well.
