The information below is to be used by the Aspen Falls Planning Department in conjunction with the Aspen Falls Travel and Tourism Bureau. The purpose of this information is to develop plans to enhance tourism near Aspen Falls based on survey answers. The parties listed requested facts about Nationals Parks within 250miles of Aspen Falls. The focus of these facts was on Park Operating times, Tours and of course Camping.
Channel Islands National Park
The closest National Park at about 40 miles away is spread across 5 of the 9 Channel Islands. Entry to the park is by boat or plane1. (Jarvis, Channel Islands, National Park Service 2014)
Open Year Round.
No entry fee but a $15.00 per night fee for camping.
Tour options include: One Hour, Half Day, Full Day and Multiple Day land or Sea Tours
One established campground on each island with limited back country camping2.
Death Valley National Park
Located about 200 miles away Death Valley National Park is home to the lowest point in North America at 282ft below sea level. (Jarvis, Death Valley, National Park Service 2014)
Open Year Round.
$20.00 Entry Fee per private vehicle, $10.00 Entry Fee if by Foot, Bicycle, Motorcycle or horse.3
Ranger Guided Tours available Fall through Early Spring.
9 Campgrounds open during camping season. Several higher elevation sites open to camping year round.
Yosemite National Park
Protected since 1864 Yosemite National Park is located about 250 miles away. (Jarvis, Yosemite, National Park Service 2014)
Open Year round, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Year round bus tours as well as seasonal guided and self guided walking tours.
13 campgrounds, 7 sites are on reservation system.5
