Lasting Impressions
“Just as there are teachers who create an impact on their charges, there are students too who have touched their mentors in so many ways.” This quote is stated in the article written by Nithya Siddhu. The writer wrote about her own experience when she was assigned to teach Art to a form one class. She encounter with a group of students who easily to get along with her especially a boy whom she refers as Harry Potter who create an impact in her life. He loves to tug her cloth and like her so much until he cried when she wants to retire. In her experience I can tell that, the theme of this article is about a teacher who is an inspiration to their students. Like a wise man, Kurt Vonnegurt said “the very best thing you can be in live is a teacher who is a role model to your students and inspired them so much to be like you.” I want to recall back my experience when I am in secondary school, whereby I meet a new English teacher, Miss Liza. We are so terrible in English and when she taught us, she had manages to eliminate of our bad feelings towards English and I start to love that subject. Finally half of my classmates manage to get A in this subject. When I meet my junior in school, they will say, “Hey sis, Miss always talks about you in class.” I never know about that. On what condition, she had truly like me and same with me who is truly inspire by her. When she taught us, she always praises us and never looks down on our weaknesses. She is an inspiration to me until I really want to be like her.
As for me, to be an inspiration to our students we need to teach them sincerely. As stated in the article “teaching, I discovered can be a healing experience. In giving to others, one can forget one’s own pain.” The phrase means beings a teacher is not a trouble when we need to teach students but it is a pleasure when we see them achieve successful in their live. Once they have success in their live, one thing that they will remember is there is a teacher who has inspired them so much to become successful. In that sense, we have forgotten their pains from no one to someone useful in this life. Like a wise man said, a great teacher take a hands opens a mind and touches a heart.” As we all know, teachers are such a wonderful gift that comes to us to fulfil our dream on becoming a victorious person. Even the students hardly to recall back what their teacher teaches them but at least they remember about what type of teachers they are. The one that give an impact in their live and the one that inspire them to be like their own teacher.
