Memory mattress
The use of memory foam had its beginnings in the 1930s under the research of Otto Bayer and was used at Lankenau Hospital in 1965. It was further developed by NASA in the 1960s.
Basically it is an oil-based product using polyurethane foam. The polyols, isocyanates, and various agents that cause a different reaction are mixed and compacted into foam, which is poured into a mold causing an exothermic chemical reaction.
