Law Abiding Citizen
People always say that justice is slow,but it always comes. What happens if justice is so slow that one decides to take it in his own hands? When one loses what he loves the most, the most precious thing in his life, and he knows who are those who are guilty for that he starts living his life in order to make revenge. But, sometimes, like in this movie, one can blame the whole justice system and try to revenge to all people included in it. Law Abiding Citizen is the movie about a man whose developed sociopathic tendencies drove him into killing while targeting not only his family’s killer but also the all criminal justice system. According to IMDB.com, directed by Felix Gary Gray and rated 7.2 out of 10, this 109 minutes long, 2009 American thriller movie, is classified as R, which means that it is not allowed under the age of 17 without parental advisory, because of strong bloody brutal violence and torture, a scene of rape, and pervasive language (1). In order to understand what the movie is about, a few key terms must be determined. First, a plot is a story told by actors in the movie. Second, cast is the actors who are acting in the movie. Third, direction refers to instructions given by the director to the actors and film crew in filmmaking.According to Roger Ebert, this movie is a thriller about a serial killer, man who is seeking for revenge after losing his family (1). According to Steven Rea, this Philadelphia-made criminal-justice revenge thriller is actually a movie with a lot of scary stuff which actually has no hero (1). Many people think that Law Abiding Citizen is the movie about vengeance, but I will prove that it is about justice system because of plot, cast and direction.
