Fortunately, Le Fou was born into a wealthy family and had inherited plentiful wealth; this enabled him to go on a long voyage. Le Fou began by buying a large galleon and hiring the best sailors in all of France. Once Le Fou was confident in the crew he had hired, he made preparations to set sail.
One of the crew members Le Fou had hired was a German cartographer, whose name was Lügner. Lügner had obtained a map that was eerily similar to the rumors, so Le Fou and his crew placed their bets on the map and set a course for this mysterious island. …show more content…
Rapid and wild waves crashed into the bow of the boat and flooded onto the main deck. When Le Fou heard this, he quickly ran into his private quarters and clenched to his cot in terror. He heard the loud thuds from the raindrops and wished he was home. Whilst Le Fou was cowering in fright, Lügner and the other crew members were frantically trying to get all of the water off of the main deck. After hours of fighting against the terrifying storm, the weather was starting to settle down and Le Fou returned from his quarters
