An emerging leader in the not-for-profit technology field happens to be Laura Weidman Powers. Powers is the cofounder & CEO of a tech diversity nonprofit by the name of Code2040. Also, because he knows his customers, he is able to personalize their experience; is able to build competition; and is known for offering entertainment.
The similarities I see between these three examples are that they all have the ability to work with and grow their base and offerings in a way that is manageable; they all are great leaders and have the ability to inspire people on their teams to be a part of their success; all three also understand that being able to understand basic management skills is imperative.
The differences I see between these three examples are that they each have their own management style. From my research into each individual’s management styles, I noted that Weidman took a risk and stepped away to give others’ the opportunity to lead in her stead. Trushar is more hands-on and is super involved in all aspects of her business. Reid’s approach is in the middle – not too lenient and not too overbearing.
In conclusion, it’s hard to combine the three elements of leadership, entrepreneurship, and strategy to be successful, but it’s not impossible! The three examples I presented in this essay are proof that we can combine these elements into a cocktail that would bring us
