In the article “Leading Change” author John P. Kotter has told about various features the companies perform in fields like growth and about those who have not prosper and has also told about companies who are in between them, “neither they have prosper nor they have failed”. The study conducted by the author, how and why this transformational change fails in most of the companies. He has mentioned about the work with more than 100 companies. Companies like General Motors, British Airways. The author says that change doesn’t come instantly, it has to come from incremental processes, slow process. One has to be patient regarding the transformational change for a company to prosper; this is the main theme of the author’s article. In the second period author emphasizes on the point that transformational change requires a lot of effort and a lot of time. Occasionally performance appraisal and compensation building blocks the way of transformational change because the employee is self-seeking. His mindset blocks the way of transformational change because it is not in his interest. If the change is for the betterment of himself, he would have accepted it while if it is against him he would have taken it for approved. The mindset of an employee is a big aspect for the resistance of the transformational change.
