Leah received her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Tennessee. Upon graduation, she thought she wanted to go into the Sports Medicine field or the Occupational Therapy field. After having an eye opening experience while working in the Emergency Room for 2 years, her plans changed. While working in the emergency room, many of the patients who came in were diagnosed with health conditions that could easily be managed, controlled,
or reduced by proper diet, exercise or modifications in lifestyle choices. This fueled her passion to help others reach their goals and live an active and healthy lifestyle, which ultimately brought her to the Culinary Institute of Charleston. She wants to further her education by learning more in depth about nutrition and how to cook healthy meals and make eating healthy more exciting.
Leah is very passionate about exercise and nutrition and has always been fascinated with how the body functions and how food can be fuel for the body. Because of this passion, the ultimate goal is to incorporate her Kinesiology degree and Sports and Health Nutrition degree to become a Chef for a sports team.
