Leather Companies Ratio Analysis
Acknowledgement
This report contains financial analysis of three companies of Bangladesh of three latest consecutive years, which we were instructed to perform by Ms. Mahtab Faruqui, Senior Lecturer, Brac Business School. The paper is an interpretation of the three leather companies we have chosen, Bata Leather, Apex Tannary Limited and Samanta Leather Limited and comparison within its own years (2009, 2010, and 2011) and also with one another. The interpretation was conducted with the help of the financial reports of the respected companies in the companies mentioned above in the respected yearsby finding there ratios and using our text book `` Fundamentals of Financial Management `` by James C. Van Horne and John M. Wachwicz, Jr., 13th Edition. The comparisons had to be made with limited knowledge on the three different leather companies since we had the ratios, balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statement to provide us with the information. We took help from information provided in Dhaka Stock Exchange And Company’s websites. There are also contributions of an external member of a financial organization who helped us by providing insights and implementations of information while we conducted our ratio analysis. We believe the ratios we interpreted were approximate in terms and gave us accurate results which could be used for real live implications.
Sincerely,

In this paper, after reviewing and analyzing Appendix A Specimen Financial Statement for PepsiCo and Appendix B Specimen Financial Statement for the Coca Cola Company, I would be providing a financial comparison between the two most known beverages company in the world PepsiCo and Coca-Cola. I will be supporting my financial analysis by showing vertical, horizontal, and ratio financial analysis for both companies. To provide explanation as to what to find in each financial analysis; vertical analysis refers to assets, liabilities and equities as a percentage as a whole. It is a method where each entry for each of the categories in a balance sheet is represented as a proportion of the total account. Financial Ratios are useful in that they display a company’s health; comparing other companies in the market does this. The three main types of ratios are Liquidity, Profitability ratios and Leverage ratios. Liquidity ratio tells the company’s financial status when in relation to paying on its debts. This scenario of Gary and Company displays it’s current ratio (Assets/Liabilities) as 2.7, which is a little above the average Industry Average set at 2X, moreover, this indicates that the company is able to make payments to its loan institutions such as creditors and banks, also the company is able to trade its assets and gain cash to pay on its loans given a 12 year period. The company meets the industry average profit margin (Profitability ration) at 3%, this means that its keeping up with competition.…

There are many parallels that can be drawn between August Wilson’s and Arthur Miller’s main characters in both of their respective plays. While some may not be immediately obvious, I plan to connect many of the dots to illuminate the similar characteristics exhibited by the characters in question. Wilson and Miller both present main characters that have similarities such as having strained relationships with their children. Other comparable traits between these two characters are their unfaithfulness to their wife, and not being able to face reality.…

Through the analysis of three companies in different sectors, this paper will show some basic concepts, techniques, and conventions of financial accounting. The three different areas Team B covered include a manufacturing company (3M), an IT service company (Fujitsu), and a retail company (Publix). Team B used the information provided by these companies to calculate its main financial ratios, and compare those to the ratios common for the same industry and country. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the aforementioned company’s financial position and how they differ from a cash or accrual basis. It was necessary to calculate such ratios as current and quick liquidity ratios, the DuPont ratio (also called the return on equity), gross profit margin, asset utilization ratios (receivables and inventory turnover were selected for this category) and financial leverage ratios (represented by debt ratio and debt-to-equity ratio).…

Companies prepare and furnish financial statements on a regular basis to their stakeholders that report on their financial standing. However, the accounting information by itself is not easily analyzable and effective in determining how a particular company is doing financially by itself or in relation to others in the industry. Financial ratio analysis is the use of financial statements to evaluate a company’s overall performance and assess its strength and shortcomings (Jiambalvo, 2009). It is a tool used to evaluate the overall financial health of firms and is approached from different perspectives by creditors, managers, and stockholders. The three different groups are all interested in the profitability of the firm but take on different perspectives. Stock holders invest in firms with the intention of maximizing the value of their stock, earning dividends, and generally maximizing their return on investment. Managers are responsible for the day to day running of the firm and have a fiduciary responsibility to the owners to make decisions that are in the owner’s best interests. They are therefore interested in…
