Nguyen was from a family living in poverty line. His father suffered from back pain then could not work except from staying at home to breed poultry. Nguyen has a sister, who got married when he was five. Nguyen’s childhood was tied to his father’s whippings when he was unconscious from alcohols. Nguyen said “ My father physically abused me every time he was drunk. I feel hatred towards my father, I don’t want to communicate with him”
As depression and distance grew between he and his family, Nguyen was struggling with family, thus leaving home. “After the day I left home, my mom searched for me and took me home. Since then, I have seen my father had less alcohol drinks”, he said. Even though sometime Nguyen’s father could not control
his temper, his love for the son has never changed. Nguyen, however, was too young to comprehend. All his eyes had captured in his childhood were only violence, brokeness and no tenderness.
Nguyen had a change to have a formal education but he didn’t pay attention to it. He participated in physical violence in school and stole money from family at home to play video games and smoke. His parents was called by school board to warn about his behavior. Nguyen had a tendency to isolate himself from his loved ones
3/8/2015, Nguyen was led by a cousin to Green Dreams.
“ I had known God before I came here but I was not obedient. I was telling lies, saying bad words and committing sins. But here, I can embrace God’s affection. He answers every prayer”
Nguyen has exposed such a radical change. He has nurtured interpersonal skills. He has made a substantial improvement in controlling his emotion, and also engaged in domestic chores. He has a vision of becoming a helper for Green Dreams
