Lebron James
LeBron James is my idol. I look up to him because of his leadership on and off the court. On the court he is a leader on his team and a great basketball player. I learn new things every time I see him play. Off the court he is a respectable person for his actions. That is why LeBron James is my idol.
At an early age Lebron James was in a poor household with only is mother. He wanted to get out of the projects and have a better life. That was the main thing that made him strive for greatness. He started playing basketball at an early age of nine. He was coached by a friend’s dad at the time.
His household turned to become too unstable so he moved in with the coach. This turned into a great situation because LeBron was doing much better. To boost his level of play he played for an AAU basketball team. He went to St. Vincent St. Mary's high school. James won three state titles there. Three Mr. Ohio's which means he was the best player in Ohio.
After high school he skipped college and went right into the NBA. He was the number one pick overall in the draft. He had achieved his goals to make it to the NBA and get out of poverty. LeBron made tons of money on endorsements. He has went on to win two national titles and four MVP’s. This is a huge accomplishment that is why so many people look up to him including me.
Knowing all the things I know about Lebron just makes me respect him more. One of LeBron’s short but meaningful quotes is “Strive for Greatness”. And that is what he does he lives buy the quote and still is. He puts in work to be great. That is why LeBron is my idol.
