Led Demoiselles D Avignon Analysis
Pablo Ruiz y Picasso was one of the creators or the co-creator of the Cubism. Cubism was a potent art in the 20th century. Led Demoiselles d’ Avignon by Pablo Picasso was considered as a major factor step toward the founding of the cubist’s actions, it was the first cubist painting. A very controversial painting that took nine months to complete. Pablo Picasso painted Les Demoiselles d’Avignon at the year of 1907 when it was summer. It was a combination of modern art and cubism, which portrays five nude female prostitutes in a very confrontational manner. Two of the prostitutes are shown with African mask-like faces while the other three shown with the Iberian’s faces due to the Pablo Picasso’s native Spain. Pablo Picasso made hundreds of sketches

The five prostitutes shown in the paintings appear in a very angular position and irrelevant body shape, all of them look very fierce and were in a threatening position. The color chosen was based on primitives inspired colors, which are green, pink, black and blue. This painting is a two dimensional painting which considered to be flat.The Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (The young Ladies Of Avignon) is originally titled from The Brother of Avignon. Pablo Picasso was believe to visit the Musée de l'Homme months before finishing Les Demoiselles d’Avignon that influenced the African and tribal art from him. After the late summer in 1907, Pablo and his lover Fernando Olivier were parted and this might be the reason why co-creator of cubism repainted the two heads on the far right of this painting. This oil painting received major critics amongst criticism, friends and the public. However, he also got supports from Georges Braque and Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, both is a dominant people. This painting was taught to be immoral, unpleasant, disconnected and resemblance to The Large Bathers of Paul Cezanne, Statue Oviri of Gauguin and Opening of the Fifth Seal of El Greco to several art critics. Due to all those critics that were up for more than 5 decades, Pablo Picasso’s first cubist painting was exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art.
