However there are older generations and religious people who are against it because it’s “wrong” or a marriage isn’t really a marriage without being able to have kids. As Jacob Held said in his article, “A marriage is essentially between a man and woman because they are the ones who can have children” (223). There are heterosexual couples that are married who choose not to have children; does that mean they aren’t really married? There are so many children in the world who need to be adopted, but gay couples, who desperately want children, have a hard time adopting. Homosexual people should be able to have equal rights, relationship arguments, and love that straight people have because they are no different. Marriage is commitment of love; it shouldn’t be a right that’s denied. There’s a lot of hate towards gay people which leads to bullying and suicide. It’s sad, but hopefully once they are allowed to get married, people will see that homosexuals are just like heterosexuals.
