The Last Supper

The art piece The Last Super is a painting that was painted by one of the leading artist in the Renaissance time. Leonard Da Vinci was known to be a Renaissance man. He was born April 15, 1452. Leonardo Da Vinci was also known to be a master artist. For such a talented artist Leonardo had little education with his past, the only known skills that the artist withheld while growing up appears to be his reading skills. I chose to write about The Last Super, which is one of Leonardo Da Vinci’s well known paintings. This specific art piece was painted directly on a wall. Leonardo Da Vinci used warm and passionate colors to produce the misty appearance on the landscape. He has a wonderful and very unique way of painting with the mixing of his colors. Da Vinci is a very talented and accomplished artist, and it shows through the illustrations of his art. The expressions and the way his art work presents it’s self shows the true talent of the artist Da Vinci is. A wonderful example of the talented art work of Da Vinci would be The Last Supper. This work of art Leonardo Da Vinci imagined, and with his imagination he succeeded in expressing the thoughts and emotions he had on The Last Super. Jesus taught at the Last Supper to live a faithful life while here on earth by serving others in love. I am glad that I chose this particular painting to write about. I chose this painting because I wrote about earlier this paiting inspires me. By using this particular painting for my paper I was able to not only educate myself with the true meaning behind Leonard Da Vinci’s work I was able to learn a lot about the artist him self as well. I would have never imagined such a talented artisit came from such minimal education. That I find to be even more inspiring of with in this art piece.     The Last Supper has been and will be one of the most talked about works of Leonardo Da Vinci 's work of art. The work of art was started in 1495 and was completed in 1498; it contained the event depicted in the bible as the final days when Jesus announced that he would be betrayed by one of his twelve disciples."     The viewer can also perceive various principles of design in The Last Supper. For example, right away, it is obvious that the center of attention is Jesus, especially because there is a lot of movement created by the apostles' faces and positions that make the viewer focus on Jesus. Also, the painting is extremely balanced because if it was to be fold with Jesus in the middle, it would fit almost perfectly. Da Vinci's work produces a strong feeling of peace on the people who get a chance to see it, not only because of the event that is taking place, but because it is so well balanced and the colors used make good contrasts. Repetition is used very little in the ceiling, and the doors; meanwhile, the brush strokes are not that important for the painting neither.
