The Last Supper

The art piece The Last Super is a painting that was painted by one of the leading artist in the Renaissance time. Leonard Da Vinci was known to be a Renaissance man. He was born April 15, 1452. Leonardo Da Vinci was also known to be a master artist. For such a talented artist Leonardo had little education with his past, the only known skills that the artist withheld while growing up appears to be his reading skills. I chose to write about The Last Super, which is one of Leonardo Da Vinci’s well known paintings. This specific art piece was painted directly on a wall. Leonardo Da Vinci used warm and passionate colors to produce the misty appearance on the landscape. He has a wonderful and very unique way of painting with the mixing of his colors. Da Vinci is a very talented and accomplished artist, and it shows through the illustrations of his art. The expressions and the way his art work presents it’s self shows the true talent of the artist Da Vinci is. A wonderful example of the talented art work of Da Vinci would be The Last Supper. This work of art Leonardo Da Vinci imagined, and with his imagination he succeeded in expressing the thoughts and emotions he had on The Last Super. Jesus taught at the Last Supper to live a faithful life while here on earth by serving others in love. I am glad that I chose this particular painting to write about. I chose this painting because I wrote about earlier this paiting inspires me. By using this particular painting for my paper I was able to not only educate myself with the true meaning behind Leonard Da Vinci’s work I was able to learn a lot about the artist him self as well. I would have never imagined such a talented artisit came from such minimal education. That I find to be even more inspiring of with in this art piece. The work of art was started in 1495 and was completed in 1498; it contained the event depicted in the bible as the final days when Jesus announced that he would be betrayed by one of his twelve disciples."     Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper is one of the most appreciated masterpieces in the world. This religious mural painting has as a mayor theme to represent the Christian event known as the Institution of the Eucharist. One can appreciate many elements of design in da Vinci's painting. For example, da Vinci uses mostly geometric shapes to represent the windows behind Jesus, the doors behind the apostles, and the ceiling. Next, lines are all over the painting, like in the borders of the table and its cover, and many curved lines depict the apostles' clothing. Also, color in this painting represents the different clothes wore by the apostles and Jesus himself. Color also helps the viewer to see the outside world through the windows behind Jesus.
