Les Miserables is a master work of Victor Hugo, one of the most prestigious novelists in the field of French literature. Under the background of nineteenth century, the novel has clearly appeared the plot by describing the tragic life of the impoverished people in England. The hero, Ran A Rang, a poor worker who had been sentenced to prison, once successfully crawled towards the higher class of society in his endeavors through disguising himself and doing good things for other people, but eventually failed to be accepted by the society and went to his end in loneness. Ran A Rang’ s experience is so tortuous that left us into the deep thought.
First of all, the background of society people living in contributed a lot of to a person’ s destination. I felt very sorry for Ran A Rang’ s experience in such a miserable environment. Ran A Rang wanted to be a nice guy again after he got out of the prison, but the people and society assumed that he is a bad guy who once had been in the prison and didn’t give him the chance to turn into a good guy. The social background and environment have absolutely played a very important part in the growth process of a person, for it can easily ruin someone or make someone a hit. This had to lead me think of the darkness of human nature, the hypocrisy of society which remained to be the evil root in the capitalism society. At that point, what people really care is money, and they don’t care about the humanism and other good virtues of the other people. The scenes in the movie were so horrible that I felt huge sympathy for the people and was very indignant for their encounters.
Secondly, Ran A Rang’ s spirit in such a miserable environment inspired me a lot. He seems to be a man of steel that nothing could be the obstacle in his way. No matter what happened, he always faced life bravely, keeping optimistic attitude towards the bad situation and sincerely hoped for the better life to come. Therefore,
