INTRODUCTION
Good morning everyone, my name is misika kayusu from the Lusaka School of Paediatrics and Child Health, University Teaching Hospital.
Today, we are going to discuss and demonstrate on how to wash hands. It is important for us to know how and when to our wash hands. We need to wash our hands so that we can be clean and prevent diseases. Hand hygiene continues to be the single most important

DEFINITION OF TERMS
Hand hygiene. A general term that applies to either hand washing, antiseptic hand wash, antiseptic hand rub, or surgical hand antisepsis.
Hand washing. Washing hands with plain (i.e., non-antimicrobial) soap and water.
Antiseptic hand wash. Washing hands with water and soap or other detergents containing an antiseptic agent.
Antiseptic hand rub. Applying an antiseptic hand-rub product to all surfaces of the hands to reduce the number of microorganisms present.
Hand antisepsis. Refers to either antiseptic hand wash or antiseptic hand rub.
