What is leukemia?
A type of cancer of the blood or bone marrow characterized by an abnormal increase of immature white blood cells called "blasts". It starts in the bone marrow, the soft tissue inside most bones. Bone marrow is where blood cells are made. It is formed from the two Greek words leukos, meaning "white", and aima, meaning
