Letter of Complaint
Dear Sir,

On behalf of the students of 5 Amanah, I would like to lodge a complaint about the school canteen.

2. First and foremost, the food served is not covered and many flies can be seen hovering over the food. This may lead to food poisoning. Moreover, the canteen also serves stale food. The ‘nasi lemak’ turns bad by the time the upper forms have their recess. Last week, a few of us had diarrhoea after consuming food from the canteen.

3. Apart from that, the food is also too expensive. A small plate of fried mee costs RM1.50 and many poor students cannot afford it. Besides that, the canteen serves the same menu daily. The students are bored with fried rice and fried mee every day.

4. Another complaint is that the cups and plates are oily and not washed properly. The workers are also not appropriately attired although they have been told to wear aprons and caps. Moreover, these workers are rude to students. They shout at us and use foul language whenever they get angry. They also do not clear the dustbins and rubbish daily. This is very unhygienic. As a result, there is a foul stench whenever we eat in the canteen.

5. Thus, we would like to suggest that the school authorities make stringent checks on the canteen daily or weekly. They should also ensure that the canteen serves a variety of food at a reasonable price.

We would like to appeal to your sense of fairness and hope prompt action will be taken regarding these matters.

Yours faithfully,

5

As LUC students, we are very fortunate to have food readily available to us in the dining halls. The food options off campus around LUC are minimal, so it is ideal to have halls on campus that have different foods to choose from. These halls have many different problems surrounding the specific dining experience though, which affects current and prospective students, faculty, and staff. A recent article from the Phoenix reports that the hygiene of the dining hall employees has room for improvement. A student claimed, “he saw dining hall workers go out for a cigarette and come straight back to serving food” (Beckford 1). There have been reports of bugs in the salad bar and mold in the icemakers. Also, the dining halls have received lower levels on food inspections due to temperature problems that could potentially affect anyone who eats there. Although there were reports of roaches at the University of Chicago in 2012, which is worse than any reports at LUC, it is still very important that LUC works to improve the hygiene at their dining halls (Beckford 2).…

How would a student feel if they knew that the USDA allowed the school to provide meals which could make them unhealthy, or even sick? Lunch, as most know, is a very important part of a student’s school day. The food eaten at lunch should provide enough energy to complete the school day as a focused, learning student, and, for some students, to get through after school activities such as athletics and clubs; however, it is being seen more and more often that this is not the case. Chatham County Schools needs to improve its school lunches because the quantity, quality, and cost ratios are inadequate for the success of their students.…

Next, there needs to be better lunches at the cafeteria at HMS. First of all, the lunches need to be bigger so the students can eat more. Before it was stated that students need food to focus in class. The current lunch sizes are for elementary schoolers. Middle schoolers are growing and need more food. Some people believe that the lunch sizes are fine but they are wrong because the kids will still be hungry. Ask the students, make a survey they will be hungry after lunch. They don’t have enough food and the little food we get is not even filling. For example, they have five small chicken wings that cost four dollars. I’m contacting you about an issue that is of deep concern to the resident's and myself. The Ahlul-Bayt Islamic School/Community Centre/Scouts in the Vanier area. Their in the need of a proper play ground for the children to play. The play area for the children is all pavement and fencing, they also have no where for the kinder gardeners to play, the structure is old and rusted and its all fenced in. There also ain't no ramp for any child with a weel chair, there is also a shed in the back with a lawn mower which is unsafe for the children to play around. They also don't have a lot of parking for parent's to pick up their children. Making a bigger parking lot for the parents to pick up their children. The street issue is that the road of Baribeau St. need speed bumps because of the traffic around corners and speeding down the streets, while their are children in the area. There are so many issues with the Ahlul-Bayt Islamic School/Community Centre/Scouts that would benefit the public, the children and their families. Their mission is to offer academic excellence in an Islamic atmosphere and a quality learning environment to build and develop an integrated Islamic identity. The school - who consists of students, teachers and parents - will promote spiritual and moral values consistent with respect and good citizenship within the Canadian society. The school has 3 acres of property, which includes a tennis court, and fenced in preschool playground. But there is no playground for the older children but a tennis court, some children would love a playground to climb on instead of playing on pavement with balls. Ahlul-Bayt Islamic School/Community Centre/Scouts has a fully equipped science lab, brand new computer lab, gymnasium, library, and prayer room. They recently had a fire in the computer room. They might need some funding for repairs. Donations are always welcome, We are currently accepting contributions to the upcoming…

School campus lunch is disgusting because it is all slobbery and it is not made homemade. It is not even fresh! The food is so bitter from coming from the freezer and when you take a bite, it feels hard like a rock where it just can break your teeth. The food is so bland it does not taste like anything and one time I found a piece of hair on my food that was obviously not mine. The food is so fake to the point where it is not even made properly. The hamburgers are literally deformed. The food is really hot from overheating it and then students burn their mouth which is so painful! School lunch is really intriguing since foreign objects are found. The Summit staff must think we are animals to eat this kind of food.School lunch is a controversial…
