The four pillars of the National Honor Society; scholarship, leadership, character, and service are the four qualities of a well-rounded individual. They have not only embodied who I strive to be, but have helped me achieve success and impact throughout my local community and my time as a national honor society member. Scholarship has helped me define not only who I am as a student, but has helped me prepare for my future. Without my drive to maintain my academics and pursue knowledge, I would not have discovered my love and passion for teaching. This newly discovered passion has helped me narrow down my future career, special education. Service, has helped me develop one of my individual characteristics, as I now understand the importance…
Nurses share the joys, pains, and triumphs of their patients. Everyday nurses show-up for duty, receive their patients, and without hesitation begin to become a valued member of an extended family. I initially went to school with the goal of becoming a medical doctor. At the time, I believed becoming a doctor was the only way I could ultimately give back to my community through my passion for science. The decision to pursue the field of advanced nursing, developed after sharing my concerns about healthcare in the Mississippi Delta with my local family nurse practitioner.…
Hello, I’m Caroline Woodle and I feel that I would be a propitious member of National Honor Society. This organization does an incredible job of recognizing students who are leaders in their communities. In my opinion, the most influential part of a person is their character. Activities such as competitive dance, FFA, and youth leadership events continuously reinforce my values of honesty and hardwork. Giving to and inspiring others are two of the most important parts of my life. Numerous Midwest mission trips revealed to me the responsibility and desire I have to serve others. During these work trips, my youth group and I met with dozens of people who had devastating stories of natural disasters that had completely destroyed their homes and…

Here we have an organization that was established on January 9, 1914 by three scholars attending Howard University who decided to organize a fraternity dedicated to the service of humanity. These three men, Abraham Langston Taylor, Leonard Frances Morse, and Charles I. Brown created Phi Beta Sigma. Throughout the years of committing a culture for service and service for humanity, Phi Beta Sigma has been a beacon of hope, operating inclusive as opposed to exclusive, they have demonstrated a strong brotherhood in our communities, in our society, and in many lives they reach out to everyday. This was the fraternity for…
I am honored to be among the students who are being considered for the New Prague High School National Honor Society. I believe that the National Honor Society is a great opportunity for me to further my education and service within the community. I also believe that being a member of the National Honor Society would teach me to be a better person and help me further my service to our community.…
Whether it be learning about the culture and diversity of my peers -- strictly adhering to the inclusion efforts of the Honors College, engaging in discussions surrounding issues and current events around the world, or learning how to create and market products that will succeed with the help of my professors, I know I will be deeply ingrained and involved with the Honors College community and strive to embody it’s important interdisciplinary values. I hope to become a part of this amazing community of students and contribute in these activities that make it so…
I am honoured to be among the group of Rosslyn Academy that is applicable to join and be involved in the National Honors Society. I believe that I have not only achieved the academic goals that allow me to be applicable but furthermore, I believe that I also portray the skills of a person that is determined and willing to serve the Rosslyn and Kenyan Communities. I believe that I am able to become a valuable member of the NHS, who is hard-working, constantly ready to contribute new ideas, reliable and able to create useful resolutions with others. My personal traits make me a very approachable and reliable person which helps my peers gain trust for me and respect me because I am positive, open-minded and a quick problem solver. I possess all…
I have always wanted to be a part of the community and give back to it. With the chance to be in honor society, I got an extra push for that chance. I took my first steps into giving back with my parents right behind me.…
Being in Honor Society would be such an amazing opportunity. I believe that I deserve to be in this group. I am qualified and willing to work as hard as I have to. I think that Honor Society will be a great way to help better…
The National Honors Society is more than just a honor roll, but an organization that recognizes the efforts made by hard working high school students. I would like to join National Honors Society because it would challenge my development in both my community and my school. The National Honors Society, consisting of over one million students, would make me a part of a large community that could create many opportunities for me in the future. A highly respected organization such as the National Honors Society is very significant to me. The scholarships and programs offered by this organization helps increase my ability to get the education that I desire that I might not have been able to receive due to the rapidly rising costs of college. Every…
I am writing this letter in an effort to reinstate my driving privileges prior to the original date of August 24, and if possible, immediately. This is in reference to case number 17 TR 97, 98, 99, and 351, being heard on April 6th, 2017. I hope that we can come to the agreement that due to several important issues, it would be beneficial to me both professionally for work, and personally for fun and enjoyment. Please take a moment and carefully consider each of my following reasons.…
If I am selected for the forty acres scholarship, I will take as much of it as I am willing to contribute. This would be an incredible amount because I enjoy growing as a person and with others around me. I like doing this in order to create a community of highly impactful individuals that will positively change the communities around us. I already do this in my high school with the National Honor Society by volunteering for different events around my community in forms of beautifying, reforestation, and giving back to my fellow citizens. I also expect to work together and collaborate ideas with my fellow peers to pursue our goals of completing a post-secondary education that not many high school students around the nation have the opportunity…
Another wonderful thing about honor classes is that we have also been allowed to work in groups; and by doing so, we will be better prepared for the workforce where such skills will be needed. I have also discovered several mentors through the honors program, all of who have helped me in a myriad of ways. Some continue to help me through my life, encouraging me whenever I am consumed with self doubt. Some professors even go as far as to advise me on what I need to accomplish in the future in order to obtain my goals. Others are there for me in more academic ways, and assist me whenever I am struggling with a concept. This is a delightful attribute to the honors program, as such characteristics are not always found throughout the campus. Lastly, although it is not yet my past nor my present another event that I believe will benefit me greatly is the Tennessee Collegiate Honors Conference. This event will provide to me experience in academic public speaking which is something I will need to be able to do in my future career. All of these factors have come together to make my time spent in the honors program beneficial to my future; moreover, my time here has overall been both gratifying and…
I am honored to be considered among the superior academic students at MCC and to be applying to the National Honor Society. If I am accepted into the National Honor Society, a service obligation that I would like to propose is collecting items for the babies and mothers in the Genesis House here in Melbourne. The Genesis House is a donation run organization that not only helps pregnant mothers, but also mothers who have newborns or young toddlers. I feel that this project would make an impact on many people’s lives. Most people in our world today believe that people in the Genesis House of Melbourne are fine because they have the volunteers there to support and care for them which sadly, isn’t always the case.…
