In Into the Wild, mountains function not as scenery, nor are they especially significant geologically or historically. Instead, a mountain is an obstacle to be conquered, a way of testing one's capability and character, especially in the chapters of the book where author Krakauer recalls his own youth.…

Although having unhealthy food is quite valuable for many students, we should propose something that would benefit the school and the students. I recommend we start replacing unhealthy food like chips and soda pop with more nourishing food like yogurt or fruit juice. This would not only help having healthier food but also persuade students to eat healthy. Another way we can start the process of healthy food is through using the power of posters in which we can advertise about all the advantages of keeping a healthy yet effective food diet. If us grade nine students start eating healthier this would make us great role models for the younger students who would also want to eat food high in nutrients. By applying these methods the grade nine students will still be able to attend there adventure camp in spring every year and also exercise the benefits of eating much healthier.…

    Letter to Soldier

I will have to be the first to admit, I don't understand what the whole war is all about. I just know that you are there and not here with your families and living your everyday lives. I think that is really rotten and I wish it didn't have to be that way. I'm writing this letter because I want to thank you for your sacrifice, fighting for your country and for me. I know you don't know me but that's how it feels, you are fighting for me, because I can't be there with or instead of you. I do actually understand some of the sacrifice that you are making for all of us here in the U.S. My dad is in Afghanistan and stationed for one year. I don’t see much of him so I know how hard it may be for you not seeing your family. In some ways, it has even helped us to appreciate each other more. I can't deny that sometimes it’s not hard, growing up without a dad for such long periods of time but I think I turned out okay. Plus I’m very fortunate that my dad will come home. My heart breaks for those fallen soldiers who will never be able to come home to their grieving families. Now that I am an adult and I can understand a little better what was going on, I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of my father and the service he gives for our country. Maybe its cliché but I really am VERY proud to be an American! I am sorry that you are so far from home right now, what with it having just been the holidays and a New Year beginning but really, I am sorry that you have to be so far away from home at all, no matter what time of year it is. That's really all I can think of to say except I hope you all come home safe and sound and that this war will end soon.…

I have decided to write a letter to you about drinking, which I didn’t think I would have to do. Anyway let’s start. Drinking is very dangerous if you consume a lot. You can have liver damage, brain damage and many other problems that will eventually lead to death. When you drink you could get into a car with a complete stranger and they could start driving under the influence of alcohol, which can result into a car crash which could take your life. Anything could happen when you’re under the influence of alcohol. You then start to become dependent on alcohol as well, making your life seem ‘better’. Another thing about drinking is that you can become really depressed when you drink it, which could lead to suicide. You can become angry when you get drunk which can lead to violence and someone might die from your own stupidity. You can shorten your life by just drinking a drink. Don’t go drinking at a bar in the middle of the night because a stranger could come up and do anything to you and you might not be able to do anything because your reflexes aren’t great and are extremely slow because you’re drunk. Do you want to be stupid and get into a car with someone who’s drunk and driving the car? Do you want to kill someone because they looked at you funny when you were drunk? Do you want to be caught over the influence when you’re driving? No you don’t. That’s why you should never drink unless you want to endanger your health. This is for your own good……

    My Pace of Life

Eighteen years ago, I was born in Bangkok where my parents met and got married. At the age of two, I attended kindergarten, sooner than any other student due to my parents’ jobs. Then, I attended grade 1 to 6 at Santa Cruz Convent School and grade 7 to 9 at Satriwattaya School. When I was younger, my parents always took me to the park every weekend. We had a very good time, playing badminton, picnicking and singing together. Both of my parents liked traveling. When the holidays came, we usually went to the sea, lying on the beach and swimming. I was nervous every time I swam. So, my parent bought me a swimming course. It was so much fun when I was able to swim. Not only my mother was a business woman, she was also my first teacher. Before I went to bed, she sometimes read me bed time stories. I liked her stories very much and I also liked to fall asleep in her arms. When I get older, I tried to read by myself. The first book my mother gave me as a present was ‘A little prince’. I was very excited. Although it took me a long time, I finally finished reading it. Then, I became a bibliophile. Getting good grade and having passion in English inspired me to take further studying in the field of language.…
