Letter To My Mom

Hey Mom, I just read this article about stress in the work place!
So this article I read was talking about how a lot of people over in Europe are saying they’re really stressed out! It got me really thinking because a lot of them said the workload was the main cause and I want to work in the legal field you know. It’s gonna be real stressful taking care of Jay’Cion all by myself with a large workload! How did you not get so stressed out working a full time job taking care of three kids? You’re really something else for real!
But anyway this article said that stress is both physical and emotional symptoms and it can lead to panic attacks, anxiety, and even depression! That’s really scary for me because you know that the family has a history of anxiety!
It also talked about different ways that a company can help people avoid stress; and that really caught my attention because in the legal profession I would have a large workload and if my employers aren’t doing anything to help me then that would be a problem! I’m serious ‘cause if I have a large workload with a deadline coming fast and they just keep giving me more and more work I just might freak out.
Omg, Mom managing stress is hard enough and being a paralegal will just make it harder! I have to make all these different legal documents for my lawyer and if I mess up its gonna make him look bad and then he will be mad at me and that’s even more stress on top of the other stress of making sure everything is perfect! I really don’t know what to think any more.
The article says that there are a lot of physical traits to go along with the emotional ones and that’s crazy! But I want you to keep an eye out for a lot of the things that they say might be visible okay? They say that feelings of not being able to cope, mood swings, disturbed eating patterns, finding it hard to concentrate, and feeling less motivated are all sings. So watch out for them and let me

Whether at work or home I try to make sure that all tasks be completed within it’s time frame, if there are more than several tasks then a to-do-list by priority is the best option, that way I’ll know what needs to be completed by priority. Finally the assessment that really got me was “How Stressed are you?” (Bauer & Erdogan, 2013) the results were extremely high. I thought that the result would be average or minimal. Of course there are some days that can be frustrating than others but its nothing that I can’t handle. It’s the out of your control type of stress that I think is the factor, there is nothing that can be done about it right away it would take more time to…

What surprise me Robert Sapolsky spent all this time researching stress to mentioned how he, and I quote “The reality is I am unbelievably stressed and Type A and poorly coping. Why else would I study this stuff for 80 hours a week? He went on to say “No doubt everything I advise is going to lose all its credibility if I kneel over dead from a heart attack in my early 50s. I am not good dealing with stress. But one thing that works to my advantage is I love my work. I love every aspect of it” unquoted.…

It is indeed a fact, that Americans recognized their stress levels remained high and exceed healthy levels (“Stress in America”, 2010). The 2010 Stress in America Survey was a tool used to measure stress. This online survey, conducted by the American Psychological Association revealed that Americans suffer with finding balance in their work, personal, emotional, and family life. The survey indicated that only a small number of adults are satisfied with how their employer balanced out work and non-work demands. There were major concerns with job security as well. The survey, which has been done annually since 2007, examines factors that contribute to stress in Americans. The results of the survey draw attention to the serious physical and emotional implications of stress and the complicated link between the mind and body (“Stress in America”, 2010). The findings of the 2010 report also highlight how having stress in the home impacts the lives of the children who are involved. Dr. Him Gigot stated, “Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression.” According to the APA survey, 4 out of 10 children say they feel sad when their parent is stressed or worried, 34 percent of children say they can definitely identify when their parent is worried or stressed out when they yell often. When parents begin to consistently argue with…

Attorney stress can be attributed to many factors. Long hours, pressure to make ends meet, and an overabundance or lack of work can contribute to work related stresses for lawyers (Maute, 1992, p. 797). According to Keeva (1992), additional stress can come in the form of dissatisfaction that originates in the “area of human contact” which is a “biological imperative” he says, “but lawyers are trained academically, professionally and culturally to thwart that biological need” (p.1). The multiple professional stressors attorneys endure can be detrimental both personally and professionally.…

I love you, and I always will. Grandma, you have no idea how I constantly worry about you and Grandpa. Every day, I think about, “Are they going to die today without Christ? Will they go to heaven and be in paradise or go to hell and burn there forever?” I have been praying for your health and salvation for at least five years now. I won’t give up. I will persist in telling you about Jesus. I don’t care if you hate me or ignore me. I will keep calling you and telling you about Jesus because I love you and grandpa so much. I mostly care where you end up, in heaven or hell. In heaven, it is promised that there will be no pain, sorrow, or crying in heaven. In hell, there will be burning fire everywhere and there’ll be no escape, burning in fire for ever and ever.…
