In my portfolio I will be writing about varies of things such as Georgia 411 Interest Inventory, My Career Choice, Autobiographical Incident Essay, and Persuasive Essay & Narrative Essay. In these essays you will get different types of emotions from me. Let me break down what it is that I will be writing about in the essays. First in my Georgia 411 Interest Inventory essay it'll be about what type of learner am I? And what types of careers match your skills. Secondly in my Career Choice essay I'll be writing about a college/career dedicated to the future career I choose. The main point of this essay will be to research my career choice and create a plan of action including the amount of education required and prepare myself to be able to interview for the position in the future. Now my third essay is about an Autobiographical Incident that impacted my life in some way. How did the incident affect me? What were some thoughts during the experience? What are my thoughts on it now? This essay is something that means a lot to me because it impacted my life in so many ways. It was kind of hard trying to type up this paper without crying but it was well worth it in the end; because it brought back memories that I tried to forget. Fourthly, my essay is a Persuasive Essay it'll be written to convince someone to adopt my beliefs on a topic. Most of all lastly, my last essay is a Narrative Essay a fictional story of my very own. I do hope you all enjoy what I created in my portfolio.

Introduction Admission to graduate school is highly competitive. Writing an essay, or personal statement, is often the most difficult part of the application process. Requirements vary widely, with some programs requesting only one or two paragraphs about why you want to pursue graduate study, and others requiring five or six separate essays in which you are expected to write at length about your motivation for graduate study, your strengths and weaknesses, your greatest achievements, and solutions to hypothetical problems. Business schools are notorious for requiring several timeconsuming essays. This handout is designed to provide some general guidance on how to write a successful essay. Essay Checklist: Start early enough to allow for several rewritings. Carefully review the instructions and prepare an outline of what you are to include. Write concisely. Demonstrate your ability to think and express ideas clearly. Articulate your motivation and capacity to succeed, and why you and this program are a good match. Use first person (“I”) and active voice. This essay is about you. Be unique and creative while still writing in a scholarly fashion. Keep the length to one or two pages.…

Barbara Kingsolver once said “Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Do not try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It is the one and only thing you have to offer” (“Pinterest”). Most people look at life as if they were typing a paper. In order to get it going first comes the hard part. The hard part is finding what career to write about. For my career, I chose to write about becoming an english double major. I chose this career mostly because I want other kids to have that one teacher that will always be there for them. This career is to help students get ready for their own life outside of high school, make lesson plans, grade work to help monitor progress, and also to help the students learn more about themselves. A person can always make a difference in another person's life but it can take so much more education, time, and understanding in order to impact someone’s life.…
