Liberty University Application Essay Sample
I am a perfect candidate for Liberty University because of my diversity, diligence, creativity, and versatility. I classify myself as a mixed artist because I am able to utilize a wide range of art styles and technology, including painting, 2D graphics, 3D modeling, and sculpture. Since none of my family members held an art-related career, my dad strongly opposed my decision to pursue graphic design. Without his financial support, I have had a difficult time paying a part of tuition and personal expenses. Fortunately, my art and designs have taken me to America, allowed me to meet amazing people, and assisted me in paying for my living expenses. Moreover, it will enable me to promote my academic studies and professional development in the country. …show more content…
To expand my knowledge and take up a challenge in another creative field, I participated in the annual fashion show at Liberty. Although I was the designer with the least experience and one of the few who is not majoring in fashion design, I demonstrated as much passion for creativity as everyone else in the show. However, I often experienced low self-esteem whenever I failed to sew an invisible zipper or a seamless seam finish, but I kept looking for video tutorials and encouraged myself not to underestimate my ability. Before I knew it, I had spent an entire spring break finishing the final garment. My design inspiration came from millions of asteroids with different formations and sizes in outer space. The dress I made is a sleeveless tube dress with a sparkling front-split that highlights a modern, sexy, and feminine look. To incorporate my inspiration of asteroids into this look, I depicted a scene of the asteroids floating in space by adhering multiple rhinestones around the neckline and sprinkling glitter to the front-split fabric of the dress. Throughout the fashion show, I had to practice my patience, strengthen my sewing skills, and most importantly, take the initiative and turn a dress from a drawing into a reality. These skills are not only going to benefit my future career but also enrich my personal life. As time passes, I see my dad's opposition to my major as a blessing in disguise because it has given me an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and discover how strongly I feel about art and

Through this experience I have learned the value of keeping to one’s dreams and persevering. Despite the fact it has taken me some time to obtain my Bachelors degree it has only inspired me to continue on to get my Masters so I can expand my knowledge of the nursing profession and all that it entails. A Masters degree would also help me in my future career goals and aspirations, which is to be able to assist those in the rural areas of our community.…

As an alumna of prominent educational institutions – Ladies’ College and Mount Holyoke College – I consider myself fortunate to be a part of a community of women who are invested in the personal and professional development of each other. Over the years, the resources afforded to me through these institutions have played a critical role in supporting my intellectual and personal growth. At Mount Holyoke College, conversations with fellow students enabled me to develop a cosmopolitan view of the world; be it through debates on intersectional feminism at the dinner table or collaborations to form social movements on campus, my interactions with this intellectual community of women have been influential in shaping my identity as a scholar and a citizen of the world. Moreover, the enduring relationships I have formed with alumnae, have informed my belief on the importance of female mentorship. These relationships’ have cemented my conviction of the need to build stronger connections between students and alumnae and prompted my active engagement in the Sri Lankan chapter of the Mount Holyoke Alumnae group, as well as the Ladies’ College Old Girl Association. My role as assistant coach for the Ladies’ College debate team is reflective of…

Samuel Clemens advised “Go to bed early, get up early-this is wise”, and by appreciating the soundness of his words, rarely, if ever, do I find myself in the chaos of late morning traffic. By accomplishing little everyday small tasks such as getting up early in time for a healthy breakfast or studying in motivating environments allows me to be extremely productive and effective as a student at the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC). For the past seven months, I’ve held an environmental specialist internship at the Santa Rosa Water Department that goes hand-in-hand with my dedication and efforts at the junior college. Over the past two years, it has been my pleasure to participate in courses and to become a part of the SRJC culture. I am motivated and eager to continue to develop a strong background of calculus, general chemistry, biology and critical thinking, and expanding physics, engineering and organic chemistry. My overarching education goal is to receive a bachelors of science in environmental engineering or hydrologic science. My top three universities of choice are UC Berkley and Cal Poly for their environmental engineering programs and UC Santa Barbara for hydrologic…

It is a great honor to be nominated in an esteemed club of NBTHS, which idolizes the importance of academic excellence and values leadership, service and character. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society would not only mark an achievement in my high school career, but would also reflect the hard work and effort I have put into maintaining my grades and developing a respectable character. The NHS gives me a great opportunity to help the community and display my character to its full potential. As a student, academics has been one of my top priorities and maintaining a certain grade in each of my classes has been an objective that I have done to the best of my ability to complete. Bryant McGill once said, "Whatever makes you uncomfortable is your biggest chance at growth". No matter the situation, people usually will either follow or lead. As a freshman in high school, I was the follower, never fully realizing my potential of being the leader. Finding myself would take time, and a lot of encouraging along the way. Going into my freshman year, my participation in class government was mostly a popularity contest. Which meant not so much about leading a particular class or group of people. I didn't find myself thinking about running for any major ASB (Associated Student Body) position. A larger, more pronounced position in ASB would mean being uncomfortable in more situations and also having to grow into true leadership.…

Everyone carries the stories of their lives wrapped around their shoulders. Some people carry feather-light stories; other people’s stories, heavy as bricks threaten to break their spirit as they carry its burden. In my opinion, the best stories – fiction or not − begin with the famous and treasured words of “Once upon a time.” So allow me to share with you my tale of a hellion land, filled to the brim with vagabonds in every corner, and survival of the fittest.…

In 2011 I had the privilege to attend Camp Eagle the same week as the Dallas Baptist University Worship team. I was able to meet the band members Aaron Zavala, Jordan Patterson, and Jason Deutsch, the bass player. They looked like such a close group, a group I knew I wanted to be a part of. We are naturally drawn to those who share common interests; I play bass for my church, and I had the opportunity to talk to Jason about playing bass guitar and my future. He asked me where I planned to attend college and I could not answer his question, but I had not really thought about it. He started telling me about a few of his experiences at DBU and what an amazing school it had been for him. We ended our conversation with him telling me to continue playing bass because there aren’t enough bass players in the world.…
