Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Statement of the Problem
To develop a Computerize Library System for them to ease their way on how to handle Library without hassle.
1.2 Current State of the Technology
Camaman-an National High School is raising a number of students, from the year 2005 onwards, the school gave the students a prestigious learning rendered by teachers and staff. Camaman-an National High School provides the basic facilities needed by the students, one of those are reference books found in the school library. Library is the center of knowledge of every school because it is a place where we can gather data and information and at the library, with the library, through the library and for the library we want to do new things.
Their current state of technology still relies on paper work basis. The said library system is not yet computerize thus they still use card catalogues & library cards for recording system on how the student borrow books.
The proponents are proposing a computerize library system to minimize the staff’s workload on recording transaction for the student’s information, books record & for borrowing & returning books.
1.3 Objectives
1.3.1 General Objectives
The objective of the study was to develop a computerize library system for the institution to provide a good and easy access to all files of the library when needed. And also, that will store the student’s records such as student’s basic information, books record, borrowed books, and prescription of the librarian.
1.3.2 Specific Objectives
To be specific, it attempted to satisfy the following objectives: * To be able to create a module that will let the user locate records in a timely manner.

* The module will aid the librarian in managing the books and other library items. In the sense that it would be easy for the librarian to know where a particular book is located. The librarian will not be required to memorize every single book in the library because he/she could just type it in the computer to know if its available or not.

* To be able to create a module that will allow easy access and secure storage of the Monitoring of Books.

* The module will aid the librarian in a way that finding data would be hassle free. Only the authorize person could access important reports. Through this module, the librarian will don’t have to worry about the damages of natural disaster because the module could provide electronic backup.

* To be able create a module that will let the user add new books and archive books.

* The module will aid the librarian to simply add books by just clicking on the computer when new books arrive. Same with adding, it would be easy to remove or archive books from the library’s master list.

* To be able to create a module that will provide a computerized list of books available in the library.

* This module will provide an updated an inventory report of the library holdings.
1.3.3 Scope and Limitation
The propose study of Camaman-an National high School Library System has the following scope and limitations.
Scope of the Study * Book Borrowing * The system allows the user to input certain data about the books being borrowed as well as the information of the borrower. * Book Returning * The system has a process of returning books through computerized procedure that record and automatically checked up the borrower’s information whenever they return books. * Book Cataloguing * Allows the user to review, sort and update a particular book depending on its availability. The system has a registration process for adding new book entries. * Book Accessioning * To create an organized numbering of books. * Book Acquisition * To register all the information of the book to the database where if it is bought or donated. * Computation of Penalties * The system generates penalties only to those unreturned and lost books within a school year. * System Security * User Log-in and password for the system user. * Book Monitoring * The system supports updating of book records and automatically checked the status of the book/s. * Records Tab * Borrower Information * Return Book Information * Lost Book Information * Database Back-up
