Upon looking the National Archives Library, I was amazed at the amount of different resources that were available. As a college student, this is very exhilarating because the more resources that are obtainable to me as a student, the more informed I am. As a result, that allows me to strive for excellence instead of settling for mediocrity. First, some of the resources I noticed at the library’s website include numerous online databases such as the library online catalog, Presidential libraries, the US serial set digital collection, ancestry.com, ProQuest, archives finder, GaleNet, and the CIA record search tools. Moreover, one of the resources I found most alluring was the NARA online library catalog which contains a strong collection of information on Archival administration, American history and government, Administrative history, Biography, and Government documents.…

Literature is a gateway that provides intellectual resources for young generations to grow and prosper as individuals. It allows for the continuation in development regarding; knowledge, communication, and speaking skills. At a very young age, children will visit libraries to check out a picture book to begin learning those skills. As they begin to transition into adulthood; the tendency of visiting the library slowly dims. Shortly, there’s no more use in public libraries because a cell phone is easy to acquire. The library’s need has come into question due to the advancement of technology; information can be found with ease using Google and can be found instantaneously now that smartphones have become a ubiquitous part of a person’s life. In the 20th century, the role of the library changed. An explosion of information occurred. Research altered old ideas in almost every domain of human interest. Libraries had to come to grips with two important facts. First, they certainly could not hold all the world’s information within their walls. Second, and perhaps more important, the library patrons were becoming more sophisticated in their needs and desires and placed increasing priority on ease and speed of access to information. In response, libraries began acquiring new technologies for storing vast amount of information (e.g.,CD-ROM) to augment the shelves of books and periodicals that line their walls.…

The Library is a place of knowledge. It is a room of different sources of knowledge such as reading materials where we could satisfy our cultural, informational, recreational, and educational needs. For some who doesn’t know how to use it, Library is a struggle. People have to search every book cabinet and scan every pages of the book just to find what are you looking for. That is why most of the students today prefer to scrutinize on the internet than to read in the library. Students have this mindset that Library is as boring as everyone could have ever imagine, but they haven’t thought of the significance and the actualization of learning it could share with us. Most of the students agree that it is a place of boredom, that library is more of a sleeping room rather than a learning room. They doesn’t give importance to it, that we can go through a real hands-on learning in the library. We can see and read actual hard copies of books, novels, and even magazines we love in Libraries which we can’t experience on the internet. The Internet on the other hand, is preferred by the mass because it is just a click away from the most bothering question you’ll ever had on your mind. That’s away it is widely used now a days. No more separate books and journals to interpret, nor another device for audio and visual materials to watch or listen. No more walking on the long aisle of book cabinets or searching on card catalogs. You will just need a computer set and an internet connection.…
