Lies And Deceit In Hamlet

Hamlet is a tragedy about a king who is killed by his uncle and the son of the king named Hamlet who is told to get revenge on his father's death. Hamlet does this while everyone else thinks that the king died naturally and not by murder. Throughout the play many people are deceiving others to benefit or save himself from any trouble they may have gotten into. A major theme of this play would be lies and deceit, a lot of it coming the man Hamlet himself, this ties in with society now when it comes to the media.
This major theme of lies and deceit is shown throughout many of the characters an example would be when Hamlet is sent to England to get killed and deceives his friends by having them get killed instead. In the play all of the lies are usually what cause the madness. The madness mostly revolves around Claudius because he is the one who started it all when he killed the King Hamlet.
