1. Experience with Persuasive Arguments
Use the guidelines in this essay on persuasive arguments and this book on public speaking to answer these questions.

a. List several persuasive arguments or discussions that you have had in the past. Think of situations where you had to convince someone else of your point.

Type your response here: When I was with my family we were at a hotel and it was a Sunday I had to persuade my mom to let me stay another night.

One day I was with my mother at a restaurant/hotel and I had regular clothes on and it was a lazy river there so I had to persuade my mother to let me get in with my pants on and get them wet.

My first time ever going to the movies with my friends I had persuade my mom into letting me go by telling her that it would be safe, I wasn’t gonna be out too late who I was going with the whole nine yards.

b. Were you successful in each instance in persuading your audience to agree with you?
