Life Ambition Statement: My Experience As A Senior Patrol Leader
Life Ambitions Statement I feel like throughout my scouting life, I have learned leadership skills I would not have learned from traditional “team leadership” courses. I have used my leadership skills actively in my church and family life. For example, I have regularly been an assisting minister at my church, a feat which a lot of the churchgoers seem to be impressed with as this sets an example for other youth in my church community. Additionally, I have led group projects in school before, but I feel like the real leadership experience that I have is a direct result of scouting. When I was First Class, I was a Patrol Leader with Troop 574, which was rather hard since my patrol was mostly new scouts and I had not yet developed strong …show more content…
I went to Big Horn after that experience, which really changed my outlook on leadership. I learned the importance of setting clear expectations for the group. After that, when I was the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) as a Start Scout for Troop 574, it all came so much more naturally. I was leading a troop full of more mature older scouts, and the Big Horn training allowed me to feel that the difficulty that came from being a leader before had been greatly lifted. Later when I acted as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL) on summer camp with Troop 634, it helped a lot that I had experience and I guided younger scouts with increased patients. As a Life Scout, I was the Patrol Leader and the experience was very fun, we did a lot of cooking on campouts and had a great time with the skits. As I age out of scouts, I have useful experience that will really help me …show more content…
I feel like I could do well in this field, and I could be a valuab1le asset in the workplace, and I feel like making my job a game of trying to get people to buy a product will motivate me, make me a better worker, and keep my myself mentally strong way into my older years. While I want to enter marketing, I also have an interest in politics. I might want to be active in the political community and volunteer with some campaigns. Due to my political science degree, I may even try to get a job in political campaigns, or manage advertisements for a Political Action Committee, but I would be picky as I would want my work to go to a good cause and a cause that adheres to the scout oath and law. In my workplace, I hope to be a hard worker and a smart worker that people can count on. I also hope to use my frugal nature to make the most out of my life and my

Every year the camp brought in a great group of girls. Having been chosen for officer positions and a starguider among those girls truly made it an honor. I value being highly regarded for my leadership in a place I love so much. Every year as I returned home from camp I tried to keep the same mind set as I had there, one of leadership. This is when I discovered that I did not need a title to be a leader. I could be a leader in everyday life by my…

The brevity of the two words had not fallen short of having miles of meaning behind them. They had gathered the meaning of the novel into one and in doing so, served a greater purpose to the reader, who is essentially being represented in the novel through the ward patients. There is no getting around the symbolic use of the combine as society, an inescapable concept in which we all have been placed . Randle McMurphy is our best selves- the difficulty found in how we get to access that part in ourselves amidst such a pressured setting .In the ward, Nurse Ratched holds the most amount of power above not only the patients, but the other people that work there as well such as the doctor; she does this through holding fear above them. As humans, we tend to fall…

At MCT I began to see that every Marine in the Corps would have an impact on those around him. Although we had earned the title, we still had much to learn about what it meant to be a Marine and the consequences our actions would have. During my first few days at MCT I tried taking the same approach I took at boot camp and remain hidden and skate by, however my combat instructors had a different idea and I was made squad leader. As a squad leader I found new responsibility and soon realized that I would need to change my way of thinking if I were to keep my job, I soon started trying to be the leader my instructors…

One time I took a leadership role that was the most relevant to me was when I was the leader in my robotics team in high school. I needed to take the role because everyone else seemed lost and I was the only one with previous robotics experience so I told everyone if they mid if I become the group leader and no one minded. One thing I learned about myself by being the leader is I am very good at giving people specific jobs and keeping everyone on task without them getting distracted. Another thing I learned about myself is i am a strict yet fun leader because I know when its time to stop playing around and get to…

The leadership influences for me started on the first Monday morning quarters onboard the CGC Yocona. I was right out of recruit training, firing on all cylinders and ready to tow the Coast Guard line. Quarters was held on the mess deck and the young BM3 was handing out work lists for the day. I did not know who he was but I watched and listened to everyone call him by his first name. Once orders were given out to all parties he then asked if there were any questions. I was not introduced nor given a work party so I raised my hand to inquire where I was to go. I mistakenly asked him by his first name where I was to go. The morning turned from bright and casual to tense and stormy in an instant as he verbally tore into me as loud as possible. This degraded and embarrassed me which…
