Life Course Perspective Essay
Today I will be writing my paper on my future life course perspective. A life course perspective is an intense overview of how a person’s life will turn out based on certain life course events. These events could range from things such as divorce, retirement, relocation and becoming a widow or widower just to name a few. Each person’s life course perspective may not be the same, due to people going through different crisis or events at different times throughout their life. In the next few paragraphs I will discuss my future for my own aging. My life course perspective will be very average. I do not see myself having many major problems as I age throughout life. By the age of 35, I would like to have two undergraduate degrees and one for my masters. One of my undergraduate degrees will be a Bachelors of Arts in Gerontology with a concentration in Psychology. I probably would do leisure activities that most elderly people participate in. I could potentially see myself going to bingo, the reason I say this is because I love bingo now. If I have any grandchildren, I would watch them on the weekends and take them out for ice cream and possibly buy them anything that they would like. If I can remember my favorite meals from my younger adult life, I can see myself cooking large meals for family and friends. As I age I hope I can take on new leisure activities.
I would like to have a strong immune system and not be very ill. I will make sure my immune system is strong, by taking vitamins and getting the proper nutrition that I need. I probably would join an exercise group to maintain a healthy weight. I would like to have an overall healthy life as I age. There are many preventative health measures that I will participate in.
