The plot of this film revolves around the months after the tragic death of Princess Diana and the struggles and changes the monarch faced afterwards. The Queen grew up in the Second World War and in her time the people looked up to a strong emotionless figure that can lead the nation into anything. As time changed and the generation changed that though had also changed as well. Around the time Diana had died the people wanted a leader who was sensitive and showed humane feels and also lead the nation into a right path. For the Queen the sensitive and feelings part was very hard for her because she was always taught duty first, personal and family feelings second. As a result the flag at Buckingham Palace was not flown at half massed, the Queen did not show up to the funeral because Diana was not apart of the royal family anymore when she died, and finally she did not leave her Scottish residence to broadcast a respectful message toward Diana. This angered the British people very much and her Prime Minister at the time urged her to complete the three things that were listed before. Still stubborn and stuck on five hundred year old tradition the Queen did not listen and continued to stay in Scotland for several more weeks. In the United States smoking is an all time low and dying thanks to the anti-smoking organizations that send out messages or even disturbing videos of people who were unfortunate enough to have holes in their necks or even lung cancer. Also thanks to government regulation on the disruption of cigarettes and advertising of cigarettes in the United States. For some, even with the advice of the anti-smoking organizations, the government, science, or even victims of continuous smoking they just don’t stop and for some even blinded. In the country of Indonesia aka “smokers paradise” two thirds of the population of Indonesia are smokers and rising. With the combination of tobacco plantations and no government regulations on the disturbing of cigarettes or advising of them, three hundred thousand people die each year because of tobacco smoking.
