In the book excerpt Life of Pi, Pi bespeaks his bravery and intelligence when trying to withstand being stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and having to share the boat with a tiger(Richard Parker). As Pi starts to get even more hungry and thirsty, he finally got the courage and finally went looking for food on Richard Parker’s side of the boat. As stated in the text, “I looked into the locker for food. I found cartoons of Seven Oceans Standard Emergency Ration, far away, exotic Bergen Norway…. And started to calculate how long his food and water will last” (Martel 89-91). In this part of the text it shows how Pi was determined to find food and being able to go on the side Richer Parker is on. From either having to face starvation, thirst,or being stranded alone they both have faced many challenges head on. Like having to be on a boat with a tiger or having to hunt for the right amount of meat you deserve. In conclusion, the moral of both stories is to keep on trying, don’t give up if someone tells you can’t do it, but just take the challenge you face and the choices you make will affect in the
