Life on Mars? Well, Maybe Not

If you have a chance to go to a country side where you may have a clear view of the sky at night, you probably will discover a red star. That is probably Mars. With its bright and reddish color, Mars stands out for and easily noticed since the ancient times. In 1877, astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli discovered several crisscrossing lines on Mars that he believed to be the canals of water. Go along with the hypothesis that life existed on Mars, several processes has been made to prove hypothesis. However, is there really lives on Mars or people are just wasting their times and money to prove the thing that never exists?

Mars is a one of five planets that can be seen from Earth without using a binocular or a telescope. With that, it is well-known in every culture since long time ago. The official name for it "Mars" is adopted by the Roman, in honoring of their god of war; MARS because the reddish color remind everyone of blood and death. It is also known as the "Red Planet" due to its reddish appearance from observation on Earth. That creates more attention to Mars from people more than any other planets.

Living on Earth, an environment which you can find "life" exist everywhere you go, every step you put on the ground, every times you breath, there are millions of micro-living-form. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk- kkkkkkkkkkkkkjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj-

Some scientists believe there was life on Mars due to a number of factors. For one we know there was at one point a substantial amount of liquid water when the planet was much younger. We also know Mars’s electromagnetic field has dampened, making it more susceptible to interstellar heat and radiation, thus eliminating the life that could have existed. There are also other several factors including volcanic activity and evidence of salt oceans.…

Mars is the 4th planet from the sun. It has always been the 3rd race in space since man first reached space and man landed on the moon. Mars has had robotic explorers study the planet for over 40 years. Ever since the International Space Station has been put into orbit it has given scientists and medical professionals a great way to study the effect of space on human anatomy over long periods of time. NASA will send a robotic mission to capture and redirect an asteroid to orbit the moon. Astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft will explore the asteroid in the 2020s, returning to Earth with samples.…

Eros Urides paints a very detailed picture of endless imagination in his short science fiction epic, “The Planet Mars and its Inhabitants,” written in the 1920’s. Urides does this by creating a complex yet believable story line of how life on Mars could be in comparison to our planet Earth. Outlining key details, which we will cover in this essay, Urides explains to us that life on Mars is not only much more advanced in the structure of how they live their lives, but they also bare a strong connection to the Spiritual figure, God. Part of this connection greatly separates the Martians educational system from Earths educational system. This connection, as pointed out by Urides, is the greatest key Mars has unlocked and in turn it has given endless possibilities to the Martian dwellers, whom, if truly existed, would be known to us as the greatest civilization in our galaxy.…

The article The Martian Chroniclers a new era of planetary exploration by Burkhard Bilger discusses Earth and Mars known as the “Goldilocks Planets,” this is because Earth and Mars both have the perfect environment for life to be sustained. I was first observed that Mars had evidence that it could sustain life in 1877, by the astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli. Schiaparelli drew a map of mars as an “earthly paradise.” This was because he observed that the planet had what appeared to be continents and water channels on the surface. Although, it was discovered that Mars has less water contents then earth’s driest desert. Nevertheless, because of Mar’s atmosphere and geological environment Mars has the possibly that it can sustain life. NASA has sent many space crafts to explore what is on Mars the first was the Mariner 9 then, Viking 1 and Viking 2, the…

All of the planets in our solar system with the exception of Earth are named after Roman Gods Mercury is the god of travel and thievery in Roman mythology. The planet is probably named after this god because it moves quickly across the sky. Venus is the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Venus is undoubtedly named after her because it makes a beautiful sight in the sky. Earth is the only planet whose English name does not come from Greek/Roman mythology. Mars is the Roman god of War. The planet probably got this name due to its red color. Jupiter is the King of the Gods in Roman mythology, making the name a good choice for what is, by far the largest planet in our solar system. Saturn is the Roman god of agriculture. Uranus is the ancient Greek god of the Heavens, the earliest supreme god.…

    Mars Versus Earth

Mars and Earth are both part of the four terrestrial planets that orbit within the inner solar system and are from the same origin. They are both made of rock and metal. Mars has an extremely weak magnetosphere however, so probably doesn’t have a liquid metal core. Earth on the other hand does have a liquid metal core, which provides its strong magnetosphere. Solar radiation can therefore directly penetrate Mars, while Earth can reflect solar radiation. Mars is much further from the sun than Earth making it much colder. This distance from the Sun also makes a big difference in the length of their years, with Mars year being about twice as long. Further, Mars orbit around the sun is more eccentric than Earth’s, which leads to greater variations in temperature and solar constants overall. The temperatures of their seasons vary greatly and the seasons last much longer. Interestingly the length of their days are almost identical.…

Mars is a planet that has made individuals question the possibility of many aspects, whether that would be extraterrestrial or questioning if life is habitable outside Earth-like conditions. John Grotzinger mentions in his academic journal, “all science begins in Star Trek Mode: go where no one has gone before and discover new things without knowing in advanced what they may be.” Something that sparked the beginning stages of study about the planet how similar Earth and Mars is in regards to their size and physical appearance. Due to their similarities, ideas that Mars was once livable sparked the beginning of research and the determination to prove it. One of the items people decided to…

There was a specific event that inspired Wells. In 1894 Mars was positioned particularly closely to Earth, leading to a great deal of observation and discussion. Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli had reported seeing "canali" on Mars, meaning "channels," but the term was mistranslated as "canals," leading to much speculation about life on the red planet. [Although scientists were able eventually to photograph what seem to be large stream beds on Mars, these are on a much smaller scale than the blobs and blotches which misled Schiaparelli into thinking he had seen channels.] One of the 1894 observers, a M. Javelle of Nice, claimed to have seen a strange light on Mars, which further stimulated speculation about life there. Wells turned Javelle into Lavelle of Java, an island much on people's minds because of the explosion there in 1883 of Mount Krakatoa, which killed 50,000 people and drastically influenced Earth's climate for the next year.…

One of the big questions is whether life could evolve and survive on a world radically different than Earth. The answer appears to be yes, if you consider that even Earth harborsextremophiles, or organisms that can survive in extremes of heat, cold, poisonous (to us) chemicals, and even in vacuum. We've found creatures who live without oxygen around the edges of super-heated volcanic vents at the bottom of the ocean, and we've found life in the brackish pools of the high Andes, as well as the ice-covered lakes of the arctic. There are even tiny creatures called tardigrades that can survive in the vacuum of space. So we have direct evidence that life can thrive in pockets of alien atmosphere on Earth. In…

In an article by Discovery News, scientists state they have found a growing organism on planet Mars. It is ironic that when we find a single celled organism on Mars, we exclaim “There’s life on Mars!” Yet, when a woman becomes pregnant, we falter in defining whether or not the organism growing inside of her is considered “life” or not. It is not necessary to kill an innocent life; there are many other solutions to resolve this problem short of abortion.…
