I believe this because when circumstances like what happened in the previous paragraph happen it’s a matter of a child having a messed up outlook on life because of how he was raised and treated growing up so this is not the child's fault it’s the parents and they got what they deserve for abusing him so cruelly. This was self defence in every way. There are many different programs that help out troubled teens to cope with the actions they took. These programs would only be for the ones that deserve it like Nathaniel Brazil he was sentenced to life. He is actually trying to become a better person unlike Lionel Tate who committed many more crimes after he went on parole. I got the information about Nathaniel Brazil and Lionel Tate from these two articles “Startling Finds on Teenage Brains” by Paul Thompson and “Kids Are Kids-Until They Commit Crimes” by Marjie Lundstrom. In the article “Kids Are Kids-Until They Commit Crimes” Lionel Tate was sentenced to life in prison that people believed he didn’t deserve it because he accidentally killed the little girl while playing, at the time I would have thought the same thing but after researching more on his trial I found out some pretty startling information. I think this information that Ms. Lundstrom provided is accurate because she quoted info from a news story in the “Sacramento Bee”. She says “Last month in Sacramento, a fifteen year-old Yuba City youth who reportedly claimed he was mimicking a TV program about little girls who rob a bank was given 26-years-to-life prison term. Tried as an adult, Thomas A. Preciado was fourteen when he stabbed to death a mini mart clerk”. I later found out that after Lionel Tate was released on parole because his
