When my family’s only television set went to repair shop the other day, my parents,my sister, and I thought we would have terrible week . How could we get through the long evenings in such a quiet house ? what would it be like without all the shows to keep us company ? we soon realized, though, that I am living without television for a while was a stroke of good fortune .It became easy for us to enjoy some activities alone, to complete some postponed chores ,and to spend rewarding time with each other and friends .
First of all , with no television to compete for our time , we found plenty of hours for personal interests . we all read more than week than we had read during the six months before. We make a night for reading books and discuss what happened, debate with each other as a family . This was so much fun for all of us. We each also enjoyed some hobbies we had ignored for ages , like piano my sister was so talented in playing piano but she was ignoring it at all , but she started to practice again . I started to draw and painting again. In addition, my sister and I both stopped procrasting with our homework. We started to do our homework in the time because before my sister and I were delaying all of our homework and that was making us get low grades . for example my English teacher gave me an essay to do it for next Sunday and I started working on it on Friday to finish it on time .
Second , we did chores that had been hanging over our heads for too long . there were many jobs around the house that had needed attention for sometime
