Dark and light minerals do have similarities like the eight elements. These two minerals helped form rocks in today’s society. Dark minerals are different from light minerals because of the colors. These minerals are Pyroxene, Amphibole, Olivine, Calcium Feldspar and Iron. The dark minerals form dark colored rocks. Some of these dark colored rocks contain silicon, but most of them don’t. Calcium Feldspar has silicon and if you put the rock just right in the light you’ll get a shiny glaze. Whenever seeing the shiny glaze you will have dark metallic colors, meanwhile Iron is just dull colors. Unlike the light minerals, dark rocks only contain five minerals. These rocks can be found in the United States, your state, and a different country.
Light minerals have six minerals, which are Quartz, Potassium Feldspar, Muscovite Mica, Sodium Feldspar, Calcite and Jasper. These are light minerals, thus the rocks are going to be lighter colors. The six mineral colors vary between pink, blue, and violet; some of these rocks have a hardness scale of seven. Light rocks can be discovered in your state, town, and different countries around the world; however some light rocks have crystals within and around the formation. An abundance of rocks will need a microscope to observe the crystal in more detail; although, other crystals can be observed without the use of a
