"Malice toward none"... This is a promise we can all work on. We can all get along and treat all people with respect. This especially goes towards all veterans. They have fought and risked their lives for us through bad conditions, away from their families, and for some to come home injured. The least was can do is help and respect them no matter what. They have fought for us and we should be thankful for that.
“Charity
for all"... For those veterans who are ill or injured, we need to take care of them. One of those ways are with VA Hospitals. With over 1,700 hospitals, treatment facilities, and much more we are able to provide for our heros. We provide many different concepts for our veterans, as helping them through their life, right when they get back, and any treatments they need. If they have cancer or some type of disease they do not have to go to the regular hospital they can go to a VA hospital and get help. Some veterans after returning home have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) in which can occur after seeing a terrifying event. When it gets triggered, it brings back memories that have been hard or scary for the person. PTSD can not be cured, but treatments will help. We offer our best services to our veterans to get them back to the way they were before fighting for us.
"Care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan"... We can also keep Lincoln's promise by supporting the families of those who had loved ones who served our country and some we have lost. It would be devastating to find out that one of your loved ones would not be coming back alive. For those families we need to show them we care and that we honor their loved one for sacrificing their life to save ours. No matter what we need to keep remembering and honoring our veterans.
Keeping these promises starts with taking pride in our veterans and always help whenever we can. After everything they have done for us! We shall not have malice or hate towards them, instead we should love and look up to the Veterans. I will continue to thank them for protecting our freedom, I promise!
