Linda Garris Christian Family Systems Theory
Linda Garris Christian presents family systems theory as a key component to employ as an educator to foster and support the families we service. The family systems theory can provide further support in the area of understanding the behaviors of children. Family systems theory provides the “why” of behavior occurrences in different environments. The theory focuses on behavior as whole within the family rather than the behavior of an individual.

In my experience in working with children and the children’s families, all six characteristics listed are critical aspects required to best service children and their families. The implementation of these characteristics can support in the practice of early childhood as well as all professions that
