I believe my strengths during this exercise was ensuring that the information was correctly inputed and that I edited the file in an orderly manner. However, I believe I can be faster and more adept at this skill and in the future would like it to become more autonomous.
Reflection from Listening Check:
My strengths during this activity was providing guidance to my clinic partner when it was need, specifically informing her of the order to check the equipment. In addition, I was comfortable with manipulating the audiometer controls , especially with frequency and attenuator dials. I struggled with the bone oscillator placement and would like to become more comfortable placing this device on myself and patients. In addition, when placing the tympanometry in my partner’s ear, she stated that it was uncomfortable and that I pushed it too far. I was under the assumption that is difficult to create a good seal and regret making her feel uncomfortable. In the future, i would like to practice on different types of ear canals and work on getting a tight seal, whilst not creating discomfort. I asked questions when the graduate student performed EAAs on the hearing aids and asked for clarification. I want to improve my charting skills and maintain aware of my punctuation errors. My goal for next week is to familiarize myself with the common abbreviations used in the various systems and in charting. In addition, I would like to review the components of psopular hearing aids to become more comfortable and knowledgeable in dispensary.
